Merck and Simcere Form China JV to Develop and Sell Branded Drugs

Merck, known as MSD outside the US and Canada, announced it and Simcere Pharma will form a China JV. The JV will concentrate on branded pharma products for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, taking on responsibility for development, registration, manufacturing and sales of its portfolio of drugs. Because both companies will contribute significant products to the new entity, the JV could have far-reaching consequences. More details....
